We believe that the Holy Scriptures (the Bible) are the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. As such it is the sole source of the doctrines of the Christian Faith proclaimed in the Christian Church. It is also the sole standard and norm by which all teachers and doctrines are to be examined and judged.
We believe that there is only one God, and that this one God is eternally existent in Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, is all one; the glory equal, the majesty co-eternal.
We believe that Jesus is fully God and fully human. We believe that he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and was born of the virgin Mary; that he lived a sinless life; that he performed true miracles; that was crucified and died, and that His death atoned for the sins of the world; that he rose bodily from the dead three days after burial; that he appeared to over 500 people after his resurrection, and that he ascended into heaven where he sits at the Father’s right hand; that he will come again to judge the living and the dead.
Humanity and Sin
We teach that sin came into the world by the fall of the first man, as described in the book of Genesis, chapter three. By his disobedience he and all of his offspring have lost the original knowledge, righteousness, and holiness in which he was created. So all people are sinners already by birth. We all are dead in sins, inclined to all evil, and so under the judgement and anger of God. There is nothing that any person can do to change their sinful condition or to exempt themselves from God's wrath. We can do nothing to reconcile ourselves to God.
Justification and Salvation
We believe that God is a God of love who would not leave humanity in its lost and fallen condition. We believe that through the death and resurrection of Jesus God was reconciling the world to himself, forgiving humanity for its sin. We believe that when individual persons come to faith in Jesus as their Savior, the gift of forgiveness and reconciliation is applied to them personally. Salvation is God’s work accomplished in Jesus Christ, and given to people as a free gift of his grace, through faith in Jesus.
The Resurrection and Eternal Life
We believe that Jesus will return to earth again, as He has promised; that He will raise all the dead, and judge them with all those yet living; He will usher into eternal life those who have believed Him to be their Savior; those who have refused to believe Him as their Savior He will usher into eternal damnation.
The Universal Church
We believe that everyone who believe in Jesus as Savior is mystically joined to Him and, through Him, to each other; that Jesus knits us into a true spiritual fellowship and communion that is called the Christian Church. The Church is made up of all believers in Christ, in every nation, every ethnicity, and every time in human history.
